The North Reading Hornets baseball team scored 18 runs and held the visiting Rockport Vikings to 2 in the Hornets non-league win on Tuesday.

The Hornets now own a 8-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Essex North Shore Agric & Tech School for a non-league test on Thursday, May 1. North Reading will clash with a Hawks team coming off a 23-3 non-league loss to Hamilton-Wenham Regional (South Hamilton, MA). The Hawks record now stands at 6-5.

With the defeat, Rockport drops to 2-6 on the year. The Vikings host Georgetown (Georgetown, MA) to clash with the Royals in a CAL Baker test on Thursday, May 1. The Royals go into the test with a record of 3-6. Georgetown lost 9-0 in their recent non-league test against Triton Regional (Byfield, MA)
