The Plainfield South Cougars edged the visiting Joliet Catholic Hilltoppers softball squad by a count of 3-2 in Tuesday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Cougars meet the Yorkville Foxes (Yorkville, IL) in a Suburban Prairie - South challenge, on Thursday, May 1. Plainfield South will attempt to upgrade on its 12-8 season record. The Foxes enter the challenge with a 11-8 record after their 11-1 league win over Joliet West (Joliet, IL).
The Hilltoppers (14-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Marian Catholic (Chicago Heights, IL). The Spartans enter the East Suburban Catholic challenge with a 8-9 record. In their last challenge, Marian Catholic was nudged by Joliet Catholic (Joliet, IL), 4-2, in a league challenge.
