The Columbia Eagles baseball team scored 11 runs and limited the visiting Southwestern Piasa Birds to 1 in the Eagles non-league victory on Wednesday.
The Eagles (9-3) will now prepare for their match against East Alton-Wood River (Wood River, IL). The Oilers go into the match with a 2-5 record. In their last match, East Alton-Wood River was overwhelmed by Roxana (Roxana, IL), 11-1, in a league match.
The Piasa Birds (7-2) will now prepare for their match against Hillsboro (Hillsboro, IL). The Hiltoppers go into the South Central match with a 3-10 record. In their last match, Hillsboro was overwhelmed by Jersey (Jerseyville, IL), 13-3, in a non-league match.
