El Diamante Miners (Visalia, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Clovis Cougars (Clovis, CA), 7-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Miners now own a 10-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mission Oak for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 5. El Diamante will battle a Hawks squad coming off a 16-6 non-league win over Edison (Fresno, CA). The Hawks record now stands at 11-5.

With the loss, Clovis falls to 4-10 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Buchanan (Clovis, CA) to battle the Bears in a Tri-River challenge on Tuesday, April 9. The Bears enter the challenge with a record of 15-1.
