Highlands Scots (North Highlands, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Encina Prep Bulldogs (Sacramento, CA), 43-28 in a non-league challenge.

The Scots now own a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Golden Sierra for a Sierra Delta League challenge on Tuesday, April 9. Highlands will battle a Grizzlies squad coming off a 26-16 league win over Vacaville Christian (Vacaville, CA). The Grizzlies record now stands at 2-3.

With the loss, Encina Prep falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Foresthill (Foresthill, CA) to clash with the Wildfires in a Central Valley California League game on Thursday, April 11. The Wildfires come into the game with a record of 5-1.
