The Marvin Ridge Mavericks baseball team scored 8 runs and held the visiting Providence Panthers to 4 in the Mavericks non-league win on Thursday.

The Mavericks now own a 10-5 record. They take the field next when they host Sun Valley for a Southern Carolina 4A test on Tuesday, April 8. Marvin Ridge will clash with a Spartans team coming off a 8-4 league loss to Weddington (Matthews, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 9-6.

With the defeat, Providence drops to 12-2 on the year. The Panthers host Cox Mill (Concord, NC) to clash with the Chargers in a non-league test on Monday, April 7. The Chargers go into the test with a record of 7-6. Cox Mill lost 11-1 in their recent league test against Hickory Ridge (Harrisburg, NC)
