The crowd at Thursday's non-league bout between the Southside Sharks (Youngsville, LA) and the host North Vermilion Patriots (Maurice, LA), observed Southside's softball team get by North Vermilion by a tally of 5-1.

The Sharks (16-8) will now prepare for their bout against Ascension Catholic (Donaldsonville, LA). The Bulldogs go into the non-league bout with a 20-5 record. In their last bout, Ascension Catholic tipped Albany (Albany, LA), 4-3, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Patriots clash with the New Iberia Yellowjackets (New Iberia, LA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, April 7. North Vermilion will attempt to advance on its 8-13 season record. The Yellowjackets go into the bout with a 4-14 record after their 11-4 non-league loss to Cecilia (Cecilia, LA).
