Avondale Yellowjackets (Auburn Hills, MI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Cousino Patriots (Warren, MI), 11-8 in a league challenge.

The Yellowjackets now own a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they host Southfield Arts & Tech for a Oakland - Red challenge on Thursday, May 5.

With the loss, Cousino falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Grosse Pointe South (Grosse Pointe, MI) to battle the Blue Devils in a Macomb Area - Red challenge on Tuesday, May 3. The Blue Devils enter the challenge with a record of 2-2.
