DeKalb Barons (Waterloo, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Elkhart Lions (Elkhart, IN), 13-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Barons now own a 5-8 record. They take the field next when they host Northridge for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 30. DeKalb will battle a Raiders squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Mishawaka (Mishawaka, IN). The Raiders record now stands at 8-3.

With the loss, Elkhart falls to 4-6 on the campaign. The Lions host South Bend Adams (South Bend, IN) to battle the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 2. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 11-4. South Bend Adams won 8-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Lowell (Lowell, IN)
