In Saturday's non-league contest, the East Newton Patriots (Granby, MO) softball team held off the visiting Strafford Indians (Strafford, MO), by a margin of 9-8.
With the triumph, East Newton moves its record to 2-2 on the year. The Patriots travel to Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, MO) to play the Mountaineers in a non-league contest on Friday, May 6.
