The crowd at Saturday's league match between the Maranacook Black Bears (Readfield, ME) and the visiting Old Orchard Beach Seagulls (Old Orchard Beach, ME), saw Maranacook's softball squad nip Old Orchard Beach by a count of 7-3.

The Black Bears now sport a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they host Maine Central Institute for a non-league match on Monday, May 2. Maranacook will face a Huskies squad coming off a 10-4 non-league loss to Winslow (Winslow, ME). The Huskies record now stands at 0-4.

With the loss, Old Orchard Beach falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Seagulls host Sacopee Valley (Cornish, ME) to face the Hawks in a Class C South match on Monday, May 2. The Hawks enter the match with a record of 5-2. Sacopee Valley lost 12-6 in their recent non-league match against St. Dominic (Lewiston, ME)
