Spectators at Saturday's non-league match between the Serena Huskers (Serena, IL) and the host Marquette Crusaders (Ottawa, IL), witnessed Serena's softball squad prevail over Marquette by a count of 8-0.

The Huskers now sport a 14-4 record. They play next when they host Newark for a Little Ten match on Monday, May 2. Serena will meet a Norsemen squad coming off a 4-2 non-league loss to Streator (Streator, IL). The Norsemen record now stands at 19-3.

With the loss, Marquette moves to 9-8 on the season. The Crusaders host Midland (Varna, IL) to meet the Timberwolves in a Tri-County match on Tuesday, May 3. The Timberwolves go into the match with a record of 0-19. Midland lost 4-1 in their recent non-league match against Stark County (Toulon, IL)
