Villa Maria Academy Hurricanes (Malvern, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Henderson Warriors (West Chester, PA), 12-7 in a non-league challenge.

The Hurricanes now own a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Villa Joseph Marie for a Catholic Academies challenge on Friday, May 3. Villa Maria Academy will battle a Jems squad coming off a 9-5 non-league loss to St. Hubert Catholic for Girls (Philadelphia, PA). The Jems record now stands at 3-9.

With the loss, Henderson falls to 2-13 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Unionville (Kennett Square, PA) to battle the Longhorns in a Ches-Mont challenge on Wednesday, May 1. The Longhorns enter the challenge with a record of 5-3. Unionville lost 14-0 in their recent league challenge against Bayard Rustin (West Chester, PA)
