Midland Mustangs (Pleasant Plains, AR) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Izard County Cougars (Brockwell, AR), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 13-11 record. They take the field next when they host Sacred Heart for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 2. Midland will battle a Rebels squad coming off a 10-7 non-league loss to Wonderview (Hattieville, AR). The Rebels record now stands at 8-5.

With the loss, Izard County falls to 12-8 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Bigelow (Bigelow, AR) to battle the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 2. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 15-10.
