The Carmel Corsairs baseball team scored 9 runs and held the host Deerfield Warriors to 5 in the Corsairs non-league win on Wednesday.

The Corsairs now own a 9-11 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mundelein for a non-league test on Thursday, May 1. Carmel will play a Mustangs team coming off a 3-2 league win over Warren Township (Gurnee, IL). The Mustangs record now stands at 14-5.

With the defeat, Deerfield drops to 9-12 on the year. The Warriors host Maine South (Park Ridge, IL) to play the Hawks in a Central Suburban - South test on Thursday, May 1. The Hawks go into the test with a record of 12-11. Maine South lost 6-2 in their recent non-league test against Marist (Chicago, IL)
