The Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets baseball team scored 14 runs and held the visiting Utica Redskins to 0 in the Yellowjackets league win on Wednesday.

The Yellowjackets now own a 9-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Granville for a Licking County test on Friday, May 2. Mt. Vernon will clash with a Blue Aces team coming off a 8-0 non-league win over Buckeye Valley (Delaware, OH). The Blue Aces record now stands at 12-2.

With the defeat, Utica drops to 4-11 on the year. The Redskins host Lakewood (Hebron, OH) to clash with the Lancers in a Licking County test on Friday, May 2. The Lancers go into the test with a record of 13-3. Lakewood won 7-5 in their recent non-league test against St. Francis DeSales (Columbus, OH)
