The North Mac Panthers (Virden, IL) baseball got by the visiting West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] Cougars (Winchester, IL), 2-1 in Wednesday's non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 13-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Gillespie for a South Central challenge on Friday, May 2. North Mac will clash with a Miners team coming off a 30-14 non-league loss to Breese Central (Breese, IL). The Miners record now stands at 11-8.

With the defeat, West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] drops to 15-3 on the year. The Cougars travel to North Greene (White Hall, IL) to clash with the Spartans in a Western Illinois Valley - South challenge on Thursday, May 1. The Spartans go into the challenge with a record of 2-12. North Greene lost 9-2 in their recent league challenge against Calhoun (Hardin, IL)
