The Nonnewaug Chiefs triumphed over the host Farmington River Hawks softball squad by a count of 20-0 in Wednesday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Chiefs meet the Thomaston Bears (Thomaston, CT) in a Berkshire challenge, on Thursday, May 1. Nonnewaug will attempt to upgrade on its 10-0 season record. The Bears enter the challenge with a 6-2 record after their 4-3 league win over Shepaug Valley (Washington, CT).
The River Hawks (4-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Bristol Eastern (Bristol, CT). The Lancers enter the Central Connecticut - South challenge with a 7-2 record. In their last challenge, Bristol Eastern was routed by Glastonbury (Glastonbury, CT), 10-5, in a non-league game.
