In Wednesday's league test, the Schalmont Sabres (Schenectady, NY) softball squad overwhelmed the visiting La Salle Institute Cadets (Troy, NY), by a tally of 10-5.
Next, the Sabres clash with the Ichabod Crane Riders (Valatie, NY) in a Section 2 Colonial test, on Thursday, May 1. Schalmont will attempt to advance on its 12-2 season record. The Riders go into the test with a 7-3 record after their 4-2 league loss to Troy (Troy, NY).
The Cadets (0-7) will now prepare for their test against Cohoes (Cohoes, NY). The Tigers go into the Section 2 Colonial test with a 5-5 record. In their last test, Cohoes was routed by Catholic Central (Troy, NY), 3-2, in a league test.
