Ohio High School Softball - Shadyside tipped by Martins Ferry

Martins Ferry Purple Riders (Martins Ferry, OH) backers left the game pleased Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nudge the visiting Shadyside Tigers (Shadyside, OH), 5-3 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Martins Ferry upgrades its record to 18-3 on the year. The Purple Riders travel to Buckeye Local (Rayland, OH) to play the Panthers in a Ohio Valley Athletic AAA game on Monday, May 5. The Panthers enter the game with a record of 12-11. Buckeye Local won 14-1 in their recent non-league game against Catholic Central (Steubenville, OH)

The Tigers now own a 11-11 record. They play next when they host Bellaire for a non-league game on Tuesday, May 6. Shadyside will play a Big Reds squad coming off a 11-4 league loss to Indian Creek (Wintersville, OH). The Big Reds record now stands at 8-10.
