Mount Desert Island Trojans (Mount Desert, ME) supporters left the game thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Washington Academy Raiders (East Machias, ME), 7-0 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Mount Desert Island improves its record to 1-0 on the year. The Trojans host Old Town (Old Town, ME) to play the Coyotes in a Class B North game on Saturday, May 3. The Coyotes enter the game with a record of 2-1. Old Town won 9-8 in their recent non-league game against Hampden (Hampden, ME)

The Raiders now hold a 1-1 record. They play next when they host Foxcroft Academy for a Class C North game on Friday, May 2. Washington Academy will play a Ponies squad coming off a 7-2 league win over Orono (Orono, ME). The Ponies record now stands at 3-1.
