The crowd at Wednesday's non-league bout between the Mt. Carmel Golden Aces (Mt. Carmel, IL) and the host Oblong Panthers (Oblong, IL), observed Mt. Carmel's softball team prevail over Oblong by a tally of 17-1.

The Golden Aces (12-4) will now prepare for their bout against Richland County (Olney, IL). The Tigers go into the Little Illini bout with a 7-4 record. In their last bout, Richland County was routed by Robinson (Robinson, IL), 2-1, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Panthers clash with the Martinsville Bluestreaks (Martinsville, IL) in a non-league bout, on Monday, May 5. Oblong will attempt to advance on its 4-6 season record. The Bluestreaks go into the bout with a 6-7 record after their 8-2 league loss to Mulberry Grove (Mulberry Grove, IL).
