The Shelton Gaels triumphed over the visiting Wilbur Cross Governors softball squad by a count of 14-0 in Wednesday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Gaels meet the Hand Tigers (Madison, CT) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, May 2. Shelton will attempt to upgrade on its 9-2 season record. The Tigers enter the challenge with a 4-6 record after their 8-1 league loss to Foran (Milford, CT).
The Governors (2-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Hillhouse (New Haven, CT). The Academics enter the non-league challenge with a 1-5 record. In their last challenge, Hillhouse overcame Bassick (Bridgeport, CT), 22-3, in a non-league challenge.
