The Mt. Baker Mountaineers baseball team scored 10 runs and limited the host Meridian Trojans to 9 in the Mountaineers league victory on Monday.

The Mountaineers (2-1) will now prepare for their match against Lynden Christian (Lynden, WA). The Lyncs go into the 1A/2A/3A Northwest match with a 2-4 record. In their last match, Lynden Christian was edged by Blaine (Blaine, WA), 8-1, in a league challenge.

With the defeat, Meridian falls to 1-1 on the season. The Trojans travel to Burlington-Edison (Burlington, WA) to encounter the Tigers in a 1A/2A/3A Northwest challenge on Wednesday, April 6. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 6-3. Burlington-Edison won 14-6 in their recent league challenge against Squalicum (Bellingham, WA)
