Helix Highlanders (La Mesa, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Otay Ranch Mustangs (Chula Vista, CA), 6-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Highlanders now own a 12-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to University City for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 6. Helix will battle a Centurions squad coming off a 14-4 non-league loss to El Capitan (Lakeside, CA). The Centurions record now stands at 5-5.

With the loss, Otay Ranch falls to 6-3 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Olympian (Chula Vista, CA) to battle the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 9. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 4-9. Olympian lost 10-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Del Norte (San Diego, CA)
