Blacksburg Bruins (Blacksburg, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Salem Spartans (Salem, VA), 11-1 in a league challenge.

The Bruins now own a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pulaski County for a River Ridge challenge on Tuesday, April 5. Blacksburg will battle a Cougars squad coming off a 15-3 league win over Hidden Valley (Roanoke, VA). The Cougars record now stands at 6-1.

With the loss, Salem falls to 4-3 on the campaign. The Spartans host Cave Spring (Roanoke, VA) to battle the Knights in a River Ridge challenge on Tuesday, April 5. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 2-1. Cave Spring won 2-1 in their recent league challenge against Blacksburg (Blacksburg, VA)
