Cary Academy Chargers (Cary, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Southern Wake Academy Lions (Holly Springs, NC), 20-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Chargers now own a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Carrboro for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 6. Cary Academy will battle a Jaguars squad coming off a 28-0 league loss to South Granville (Creedmoor, NC). The Jaguars record now stands at 2-3.

With the loss, Southern Wake Academy falls to 0-7 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Clover Garden School (Burlington, NC) to battle the Grizzlies in a Central Tar Heel 1A challenge on Friday, April 8. The Grizzlies enter the challenge with a record of 9-1. Clover Garden School won 15-1 in their recent league challenge against River Mill (Graham, NC)
