Shepaug Valley Spartans (Washington, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Ridgefield Tigers (Ridgefield, CT), 4-0 in a non-league challenge.
The Spartans now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Housatonic-Wamogo for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 6. Shepaug Valley will face a Mountaineers squad coming off a 20-4 non-league loss to Thomaston (Thomaston, CT). The Mountaineers record now stands at 0-1.
With the loss, Ridgefield falls to 0-1 on the year. The Tigers travel to Staples (Westport, CT) to clash with the Wreckers in a Fairfield County game on Thursday, April 14. The Wreckers come into the game with a record of 0-0.
