Lauralton Hall Crusaders (Milford, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Stamford Black Knights (Stamford, CT), 8-4 in a non-league challenge.
The Crusaders now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Cheshire for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 5. Lauralton Hall will battle a Rams squad coming off a 12-6 non-league win over Enfield (Enfield, CT). The Rams record now stands at 2-0.
With the loss, Stamford falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Black knights host Staples (Westport, CT) to battle the Wreckers in a Fairfield County challenge on Monday, April 10. The Wreckers enter the challenge with a record of 0-1.
