Union Spartans (Rose Hill, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Spring Creek Gators (Seven Springs, NC), 3-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 4-6 record. They take the field next when they host Lakewood for a Carolina 1A challenge on Wednesday, April 5. Union will battle a Leopards squad coming off a 8-3 league loss to Rosewood (Goldsboro, NC). The Leopards record now stands at 4-7.

With the loss, Spring Creek falls to 6-4 on the campaign. The Gators travel to North Pitt (Bethel, NC) to battle the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 12. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 5-8. North Pitt lost 20-2 in their recent league challenge against Ayden - Grifton (Ayden, NC)
