The Izard County Cougars softball team scored 8 runs and limited the visiting Cotter Warriors to 1 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, Izard County improves its record to 5-5 on the year. The Cougars travel to Quitman (Quitman, AR) to clash with the Bulldogs in a 2A Region 2 game on Friday, April 5. The Bulldogs come into the game with a record of 13-6. Quitman won 3-2 in their recent non-league game against Concord (Concord, AR)

In their next game, the Warriors clash with the Omaha Eagles (Omaha, AR) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, April 9. Cotter will attempt to improve on its 5-3 season record. The Eagles come into the game with a 2-2 record after their 23-11 league win over Jasper (Jasper, AR).
