The Southside Southerners (Batesville, AR) softball routed the host Pocahontas Redskins (Pocahontas, AR), 8-1 in Thursday's league bout.

The Southerners (5-6) will now prepare for their bout against Melbourne (Melbourne, AR). The Bearkatz go into the non-league bout with a 16-3 record. In their last bout, Melbourne held off Newport (Newport, AR), 18-3, in a league bout.

The Redskins now possess a 6-4 record. They play next when they travel to Brookland for a 4A Region 3 bout on Tuesday, April 9. Pocahontas will confront a Bearcats squad coming off a 12-0 non-league win over Buffalo Island Central (Monette, AR). The Bearcats record now stands at 12-6.
