The crowd at Friday's non-league battle between the Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders (Raleigh, NC) and the visiting SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars (Pinetops, NC), witnessed Cardinal Gibbons's baseball team knock off SouthWest Edgecombe by a count of 8-0.

The Crusaders now own a 13-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Broughton for a Cap Six 4A challenge on Tuesday, April 8. Cardinal Gibbons will clash with a Capitals team coming off a 11-5 non-league loss to Wakefield (Raleigh, NC). The Capitals record now stands at 10-6.

With the defeat, SouthWest Edgecombe drops to 10-2 on the year. The Cougars travel to Ayden - Grifton (Ayden, NC) to clash with the Chargers in a Eastern Plains 2A challenge on Tuesday, April 8. The Chargers go into the challenge with a record of 11-4. Ayden - Grifton lost 11-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Corinth Holders (Wendell, NC)
