The La Vernia Bears baseball team scored 5 runs and held the host Clemens Buffaloes to 1 in the Bears non-league win on Friday.

The Bears now hold a 14-6 record. They take the field next when they host Boerne for a non-league test on Tuesday, April 8. La Vernia will play a Greyhounds team coming off a 20-3 league win over Alamo Heights (San Antonio, TX). The Greyhounds record now stands at 16-4.

With the defeat, Clemens drops to 18-5 on the year. The Buffaloes host East Central (San Antonio, TX) to play the Hornets in a 6A Region IV District 29 test on Tuesday, April 8. The Hornets go into the test with a record of 10-12. East Central lost 6-0 in their recent non-league test against Warren (San Antonio, TX)
