The Kalkaska Blazers baseball team scored 8 runs and held the host Heston Academy Patriots to 5 in the Blazers non-league win on Friday.
The Blazers now hold a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Paw Paw for a non-league test on Saturday, April 12. Kalkaska will play a Red Wolves team coming off a 10-0 non-league win over Hartford (Hartford, MI). The Red Wolves record now stands at 3-2.
With the defeat, Heston Academy drops to 0-1 on the year. The Patriots travel to Hale (Hale, MI) to play the Eagles in a non-league test on Monday, April 21. The Eagles go into the test with a record of 0-0.
