The crowd at Friday's non-league battle between the East Mecklenburg Eagles (Charlotte, NC) and the host Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC), saw East Mecklenburg's baseball team beat Independence by a margin of 11-4.

The Eagles (2-6) will now prepare for their battle against Charlotte Catholic (Charlotte, NC). The Cougars enter the non-league battle with a 6-8 record. In their last battle, Charlotte Catholic was overwhelmed by Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC), 3-2, in a non-league battle.
