The Spurger Pirates overwhelmed the visiting Sabine Pass Sharks softball squad by a count of 7-0 in Friday's league challenge.
Next, the Pirates meet the Big Sandy Wildcats (Dallardsville, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, April 8. Spurger will attempt to upgrade on its 3-7 season record. The Wildcats go into the challenge with a 7-13 record after their 16-2 league win over Hull-Daisetta (Daisetta, TX).
The Sharks (0-10) will now prepare for their challenge against West Hardin (Saratoga, TX). The Oilers go into the non-league challenge with a 10-12 record. In their last challenge, West Hardin held off Evadale (Evadale, TX), 4-2, in a non-league challenge.
