The Somers Spartans (Somers, CT) baseball trounced the host Cheney Tech Beavers (Manchester, CT), 12-3 in Saturday's non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host East Windsor for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 8. Somers will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 13-9 non-league win over Lewis Mills (Burlington, CT). The Panthers record now stands at 1-0.

The Beavers (0-1) will now prepare for their bout against Norwich RVT (Norwich, CT). The Warriors enter the non-league bout with a 2-1 record. In their last bout, Norwich RVT overcame Stafford (Stafford Springs, CT), 6-0, in a non-league challenge.
