The La Cueva Bears baseball team scored 8 runs and limited the host Manzano Monarchs to 0 in the Bears non-league victory on Tuesday.
The Bears (13-1) will now prepare for their match against Piedra Vista (Farmington, NM). The Panthers go into the 5A District 2 match with a 11-7 record. In their last match, Piedra Vista gained a win over Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM), 10-6, in a league match.
The Monarchs (5-10) will now prepare for their match against Rio Grande (Albuquerque, NM). The Ravens go into the 5A District 5 match with a 9-4 record. In their last match, Rio Grande gained a win over Capital (Santa Fe, NM), 20-0, in a league match.
