Shepard Astros (Palos Heights, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Bremen Braves (Midlothian, IL), 18-4 in a league challenge.

The Astros now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they host Thornton Fractional South for a South Suburban - Blue challenge on Thursday, April 7.

With the loss, Bremen falls to 1-6 on the campaign. The Braves travel to Oak Lawn (Oak Lawn, IL) to face the Spartans in a South Suburban challenge on Thursday, April 7. The Spartans enter the challenge with a record of 3-2. Oak Lawn lost 17-6 in their recent non-league challenge against Hinsdale Central (Hinsdale, IL)
