Melissa Cardinals (Melissa, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Decatur Eagles (Decatur, TX), 9-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Cardinals now own a 17-4 record. They take the field next when they host Celina for a 4A Region II District 9 challenge on Friday, April 8.

With the loss, Decatur falls to 10-11 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Lake Worth (Lake Worth, TX) to battle the Bullfrogs in a 4A Region I District 7 challenge on Tuesday, April 12. The Bullfrogs enter the challenge with a record of 6-12.
