Palm Desert Aztecs (Palm Desert, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Central Spartans (El Centro, CA), 7-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Aztecs now own a 12-6 record. They take the field next when they host La Quinta for a Desert Empire challenge on Friday, April 7. Palm Desert will battle a Blackhawks squad coming off a 6-0 league win over Shadow Hills (Indio, CA). The Blackhawks record now stands at 15-4.

With the loss, Central falls to 2-11 on the campaign. The Spartans host Palo Verde Valley (Blythe, CA) to battle the Yellow Jackets in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 6. The Yellow Jackets enter the challenge with a record of 4-7. Palo Verde Valley lost 5-0 in their recent league challenge against Imperial (Imperial, CA)
