Goldwater Bulldogs (Phoenix, AZ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Cortez Colts (Phoenix, AZ), 18-8 in a non-league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 5-6 record. They take the field next when they host Estrella Foothills for a 4A West Valley challenge on Thursday, April 6. Goldwater will battle a Wolves squad coming off a 9-3 league loss to Cactus (Glendale, AZ). The Wolves record now stands at 4-10.

With the loss, Cortez falls to 2-10 on the campaign. The Colts travel to Dysart (El Mirage, AZ) to battle the Demons in a 4A Black Canyon challenge on Friday, April 7. The Demons enter the challenge with a record of 0-17. Dysart lost 21-2 in their recent league challenge against Apache Junction (Apache Junction, AZ)
