Platt Panthers (Meriden, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting East Hartford Hornets (East Hartford, CT), 16-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Plainville for a Central Connecticut - South challenge on Monday, April 10.

With the loss, East Hartford falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Hornets host Staples (Westport, CT) to battle the Wreckers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 6. The Wreckers enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. Staples lost 11-6 in their recent non-league challenge against North Haven (North Haven, CT)
