Carlinville Cavaliers (Carlinville, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Pana Panthers (Pana, IL), 5-3 in a league challenge.

The Cavaliers now own a 10-2 record. They take the field next when they host Greenville for a South Central challenge on Tuesday, April 9. Carlinville will battle a Comets squad coming off a 14-3 non-league win over Granite City (Granite City, IL). The Comets record now stands at 7-8.

With the loss, Pana falls to 8-3 on the campaign. The Panthers host Tri-City (Buffalo, IL) to battle the Tornadoes in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 6. The Tornadoes enter the challenge with a record of 3-1.
