Hermleigh Cardinals (Hermleigh, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Christoval Cougars (Christoval, TX), 12-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Cardinals now own a 12-6 record. They take the field next when they host Trent for a 1A Region I District 7 challenge on Tuesday, April 9.

With the loss, Christoval falls to 1-6 on the campaign. The Cougars host Coleman (Coleman, TX) to face the Bluecats in a 2A Region I District 6 challenge on Tuesday, April 9. The Bluecats enter the challenge with a record of 9-12. Coleman won 18-6 in their recent league challenge against Eldorado (Eldorado, TX)
