In Friday's non-league contest, the Clinton Arrows (Clinton, MS) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Newton County Cougars (Decatur, MS), by a margin of 11-5.

With the triumph, Clinton moves its record to 13-5 on the year. The Arrows travel to Pearl (Pearl, MS) to play the Pirates in a non-league contest on Monday, April 8. The Pirates come into the contest with a record of 6-12.

In their next game, the Cougars play the Raleigh Lions (Raleigh, MS) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, April 6. Newton County will attempt to move on its 13-5 season record.
