In Friday's non-league contest, the Winnebago Indians (Winnebago, IL) softball team overwhelmed the host Forreston Cardinals (Forreston, IL), by a margin of 15-1.

With the triumph, Winnebago moves its record to 2-1 on the year. The Indians host North Boone (Poplar Grove, IL) to play the Vikings in a Big Northern contest on Monday, April 8. The Vikings come into the contest with a record of 6-2. North Boone won 22-1 in their recent non-league contest against Belvidere (Belvidere, IL)

In their next game, the Cardinals play the Eastland Cougars (Lanark, IL) in a NUIC South contest, on Tuesday, April 9. Forreston will attempt to move on its 2-4 season record. The Cougars come into the contest with a 5-1 record after their 15-5 league win over Ashton-Franklin Center (Ashton, IL).
