In Friday's non-league contest, the Springfield Cougars (Springfield, PA) softball team held off the visiting Interboro Buccaneers (Prospect Park, PA), by a margin of 6-5.
With the triumph, Springfield moves its record to 1-0 on the year. The Cougars host Strath Haven (Wallingford, PA) to play the Panthers in a Central contest on Monday, April 8. The Panthers come into the contest with a record of 0-1.
