Normal Community Ironmen (Normal, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Joliet West Tigers (Joliet, IL), 12-8 in a non-league challenge.

The Ironmen now own a 3-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Champaign Central for a Big Twelve challenge on Saturday, April 6. Normal Community will battle a Maroons squad coming off a 0-0 non-league Villa Grove (Villa Grove, IL). The Maroons record now stands at 3-5.

With the loss, Joliet West falls to 3-4 on the campaign. The Tigers host Dunlap (Dunlap, IL) to battle the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 6. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 7-1.
